Exploring uncharted waters.
I scored a factory Saab/Saturn F25/F35 complete factory service tool kit (woot!) and set about doing my first ever transmission disassembly/reassembly to get a Quaife limited slip differential installed.
Following the SAAB WIS manual to the letter, this transmission has been going strong now for 1.5 years. So it's not impossible to work on a transmission, but the tools and Saab "upgrade kit" are pretty, pretty important. And attention to detail. And a deep understanding of the methods and process Saab is instructing to get bearing preloads set appropriately.
