Interior Group

Andrew

The general themes are NASA safety compliance and informed feedback on the health of the engine. Being that the Saab TWICE security system interlocks are a bit feisty, I kept the TWICE module intact to permit startup and sustained fuel pump operation.

I also tried to keep the now hollowed-out upper dash moldings together for an OEM-type race car feel. Unfortunately measuring for the cutouts for the front roll cage down tubes was off the first try. Fortunately the second try on an Ebay dash was very, very good. Sometimes it takes twice to get it right no matter how many measurements are made.

Autometer electric engine metric gauges keep the fluids on their side and the data on my side. I chose to run the oil pressure and oil temperature sensors off of an oil filter sandwich plate.

All in all, the driving position is comfortable. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the interior volume and seating position is fit for Viking builds, plenty of room for me at 6'2". I even had to fabricate a frame from 2" x 2" stock to get the seat up off of the floor enough for me to have a good view out of the window! The poor Mrs. will need some phonebooks!
