Jump cut to 2018 where I undertook sets of substantial life and career changes. Having relocated to Albuquerque, I could return to considering a car for its personality and feeling versus requiring a long-distance compatible, robust workhorse. I had always kept an old Road and Track from 1999 where I remember reading about the new 9-3 Viggen. Not just a Saab, but a super Saab engineered to attempt to compete with the Bavarian powerhouses. Over the years, I would casually type Viggen into Craigslist and Ebay. But fresh off of the string of life changes, took the opportunity to finally get being the wheel of a Viggen of my own. 200,000mi and mine, I have returned this particular 1999 Viggen to factory-new everything including a full rebuild and a trouble free trip to the Saab Club NA 2019 Saab Owner Convention in Denver, CO -- together we celebrated 20 years of Viggen.
