Up until this new build, the starting point for my race cars was...well, cars that someone else had already made a race car. I fondly remember a friend's dad in high school converting a BMW from a 'road car' to a track/race car. I remember making a mental note at that time that building a race car from scratch seemed like good thing for me to try one day. By starting from scratch, all decision making would be that of my own. As would the sweat and tears along each step of the way. The interior was removed and the pretty good Viggen seats ended up on their way to New South Wales, Australia. I made the decision to take the wire cutters to all wires which would not be essential (in parallel to careful electrical system studies in the factory workshop information system). After a few weeks, the car was an empty shell. More than 20lbs of sound deadening tar patches were painstakingly removed with a MAPP torch and paint scraper.
Everything Must Go
